Lib Dem motion urges county council to act on flooding

8 Dec 2022

Flooded homes and those at risk of flooding are becoming more and more frequent – particularly in the face of the climate emergency.

In Herts, we have insufficient drainage infrastructure, which Herts County Council as lead flood authority acknowledges. Many residents are terrified of damage to their homes or worse.

This week, a motion from Cllr Sharon Hollingsworth was carried, and as a result our council leader will be pressing the county council on what its plans are to respond to the increase in flooding, and asking it to update its advice to residents.
