Save Our Post Offices5 Local Post Offices have been earmarked for closure in St Albans
The Post Office has announced that it has earmarked 5 local Post Offices for closure in St Albans. Typically the Government waited until after the local elections to tell us this decision. We know from the overwhelming response to our earlier campaigning that local people do not want anymore local Post Offices to close. St Albans has already lost many local Post Offices because of previous cuts announced by this Government and by the previous Conservative Government. This latest decision to try to close 5 more branches is going to hit all the people and local small businesses who depend on access to postal services. This is yet another attack by the Labour Government and Gordon Brown on the people in our community who are least able to defend themselves - those without access to transport, the infirm and the elderly. We passionately believe that we should not let these closures happen without a fight. We will be campaigning hard across St Albans to ensure that as many local Post Offices are kept as possible.
