ENGLAND'S YOUNGEST MP TO COME TO ST ALBANS3.48.00pm GMT Tue 11th Nov 2008
England's youngest MP, Liberal Democrat Julia Goldsworthy is coming to St Albans on Friday November 21st to speak at a dinner organised by the local Liberal Democrats at the Quality Hotel in London Road. In spite of her youth, 30-year old Julia is already a regular participant on BBC Question Time and sits in Nick Clegg's shadow cabinet as Shadow Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government. She is MP for Falmouth and Camborne in Cornwall where the Liberal Democrats hold all the seats. "The five youngest MPs in the United Kingdom are all Liberal Democrat and three of them are women", notes Sandy Walkington. "If the last election had been confined to voters under the age of 25, the Liberal Democrats would be in power today. It shows that we are the coming party and I am delighted by the interest Julia is exciting amongst our local members and supporters." Over three-quarters of the tickets for the dinner costing £27 have already been sold but if people want to attend, they are invited to ring the Liberal Democrat office on 01727 855523 to reserve a place.
